The practice

Support from execution strategy to contract close-out.

Independent technical and commercial consultancy to owners, EPCs and yards — execution strategy, market intelligence, yard capacity and capability, commercial evaluation, dispute mitigation, and delay and claims assessment.

01

Execution strategy

We assess project requirements, delivery schedules, construction methodologies and contracting strategies to develop practical execution recommendations. Our reviews address the principal risks to delivery.

  • Execution recommendations grounded in method, schedule and contracting strategy
  • Principal delivery risks identified before the work is placed
  • A written strategy the commercial team can take into the market

02

Market intelligence

Current, sourced views of yard occupancy, day-rate pressure, steel and labour, and who is actually winning work, tailored to the client’s execution brief.

  • Yard occupancy and slot outlook against the execution brief
  • Day-rate, steel and labour pressure for the relevant work class
  • Who is actually winning the work in the region

03

Yard capacity & capability

We evaluate facilities, production resources, workload, logistics and relevant delivery experience against the proposed scope. Assessments identify execution constraints, information gaps and areas requiring further verification.

  • Facilities, resources, workload and logistics against the proposed scope
  • Execution constraints and information gaps called out
  • Areas requiring further verification before award

04

Commercial evaluation

We evaluate tenders on a consistent basis, examining scope, qualifications, pricing assumptions, productivity and schedule exposure. Deliverables may include comparative assessments, clarification schedules and documented award recommendations.

  • Comparative tender assessments on a consistent basis
  • Clarification schedules for scope, qualifications and pricing
  • Documented award recommendations

05

Dispute mitigation

We support the development of commercial positions and dispute mitigation strategies for fabrication and specialist subcontracts to achieve amicable remedies.

  • Commercial positions for fabrication and specialist subcontracts
  • Dispute-mitigation strategies before the file hardens
  • A path to amicable remedy

06

Delay and claims assessment

We analyse project records, schedules, construction methods and costs to assess delay, disruption and contractual changes. Findings are presented in structured reports supporting commercial resolution and, where required, the client’s legal advisers.

  • Delay, disruption and change assessed from records, programmes, method and cost
  • Structured reports written for commercial resolution
  • A file the client’s legal advisers can use if the matter proceeds
